Papa's Turkey Marinade for Thanksgiving -- A Recipe for Cooking Delicious Turkey

Hate the taste of dry, tasteless, sand-paper texture turkey for Thanksgiving that not even buckets of gravy can make it taste good? Want something better than deep fried turkey? Want something better than traditional "Thanksgiving" dried, cat tongue turkey soaked in a plate lake of gravy?

Papa's Turkey Sauce Marinade to the rescue!

Follow the simple Thanksgiving turkey recipe below of ingredients and cooking process passed down through generations of at least 60 years for you to fill your mouth with flavorful, moist, tender, and scrumptious turkey!

Important note: Make sure to include the next generation (children) in the preparation! Builds relationships, real-life skills, memories, conversations, fun, thankfulness for what is being prepared, and opportunity to learn to give others of what one worked hard to make.

Ingredients/measurements:

  1. 2 cups white wine

  2. 1 cup soy sauce

  3. 1 cup peanut oil

  4. 1 gallon freezer bag (5 bags for 20 lb sliced turkey)

Preparation:

  1. Cut turkey into thin slices (e.g. 1/4 - 1/2 inch or to your preference).

  2. Marinate turkey slices in the ingredients mixture: Fill 1 bag with turkey meat and marinate mixture until adequately covered for minimum of 1 to 24 hours.

  3. Fill a sauce pot (size depends upon amount of meat) with fresh ingredient mixture.

Cook:

  1. Cook marinated turkey meat on pan or grill (preferably griddle or cast iron). Recommended turkey meat cooked temp to be minimum 165 degrees.

  2. Soak the cooked turkey meat slices into the pre-boiled, now simmering marinade.

  3. Gently mix/stir the cooked meat in the new, simmering marinade for a minute or your preference.

  4. Turn heat off and serve.

We call this our Papa's Turkey Marinade for Thanksgiving! Generations for children have tasted with smiles and asking for more!
